Brass Gumbo aim to create arrangements that are unique, exciting and with a funk/jazz heartbeat.
e.g. a New Orleans second line twist on Rolling Stones’ Satisfaction, or a samba/carnival re-imagining of Smells Like Teen Spirit.
Brass Gumbo’s signature sound has funk and jazz at its core, with their hearts firmly in New Orleans, but with something for everyone in the set. The band mixes upbeat, highly danceable second line style tunes with plenty of funked-up covers of everyone from The Beatles and David Bowie to Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk, with buckets of energy and a wall of brass!

We have unique arrangements suitable for short ‘feature’ sets (great with one of our larger line ups), plenty of high energy covers for dancing, or a mix of tunes for welcoming guests to your event - ideal for unplugged sets at the entrance to your venue, for example.
We can also custom arrange tracks by agreement, and have experience of creating ‘stings’ and fanfares for awards ceremonies etc.
